Plumber?
@ moms for the holidays…she has 1/2inch PVC from water heater to lavatory, hot and cold, both 1/2 inch pvc fittings to valves are cross threaded, instead of replacing the PVC fittings I want to sweat copper from water heater, and cold feed to lavatory what fitting do I need to go from PVC to copper thread? or should I just cut the pvc where it is cross threaded and replace the 1/2inch slip joint to thread fitting?

1/2″ male PVC thread and a 1/2″ female copper
Glue the PVC and then thread on the copper and go from there.
You can also use a compression coupling, 5/8″ OD.Or you could use a ball valve with the same compression fittings on each end. If you choose this method of repair, be sur eto use a little pipe joint compund on ferrels and threads of compression fittings. It makes them tighten much easier. Also be sure not to over tighten end that cpvc goes in to. Good luck.
